SLO Film Fest Opening Night! Good times in store y’all!
Let the good times roll on Tuesday, March 14th, when the SLO Film Fest opens with a Mardi Gras themed party followed by Leslie Iwerks new film, “ELLA BRENNAN: Commanding the Table,” about one of New Orleans’ most famous restaurants, Commander’s Palace.
Opening Night is sponsored by Jim Sargen, Taste Buds, Cafe Musique and all of the generous food and drink sponsors listed below.
The party will be a “foodie’s” dream come true! Fifteen chefs from restaurants and catering companies around SLO County will be sharing their tasty culinary treats at tables throughout the Festival VIP Tent and the Fremont Theatre. Interspersed will be amazing Central Coast wines and other libations. The price of admission allows you to go hog wild and taste everything…AND see a great movie when you’re fat as a tick and just want to sit awhile.
And if that isn’t enough, popular band Cafe Musique will perform their lively musical stylings with a southern twist on the Fremont Theater stage before the movie begins.
The fun starts at 5:30pm and the movie follows at 7:00pm. You’ll meet 2013 SLO Film Fest Spotlight Award recipient Leslie Iwerks (director of this film and many others including The Pixar Story, Citizen Hearst), who will be in attendance with Ella Brennan’s daughter, Ti Martin and son, Alex Brennan, recently named “2016 New Orleans Restauranteurs of the Year.” They are looking forward to talking about Commander’s Palace’s storied history and the exciting restaurant business. And libations from: Amplify Wines, Baker and Brian, Field Recordings, Opolo Vineyard, Kynsi Winery, Cass Winery, Timbre Wines, Puffers of Pismo, Robin Bogue formerly of William James, Summerland Wines and M Special Brewing Company.
Oooohweee! I do declare this is going to be an event you won’t want to miss! So get gussied up and come on down to the Fremont Theatre for the SLO Film Fest Opening Night! Tickets are a steal – and are on sale now, y’all!
